Obama was a member of the NEW (socialist) PARTY

I’ve been complaining about Obama’s Socialist tendencies for the better part of a year…and now I find out that he was actually a member of the New Party.

In my article entitled “Top Ten Things I Hate about Obama” (you know, the one that was never finished), my number one thing was his blatant Socialism. I was often told that I was just, “crying socialist” but now, now I have proof!! Mwahaha! And to think that you scorned me!!

This first came to my attention thanks to Conservatism Today’s post, which you can read here. The blog http://politicallydrunk.blogspot.com/ also helped.

I then did my own research, thinking that his words were too good to be true. I mean, come on, this gave me the chance to say I told you so to everyone I know.

And yet…it is true. Obama was a member of the New Party, or at least, they claimed he was and he never denounced them for it. 😉

In fact, in 1995 Obama sought the New Party’s endorsement for his 1996 state senate run. And endorse him they did.

According to http://www.populist.com/11.96.Edit.html, “New Party member Barack Obama was uncontested for a State Senate seat from Chicago.”

According to http://www.chicagodsa.org/ngarchive/ng47.html which is an archive of a newsletter from http://www.chicagodsa.org/index.html, the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America, Obama was endorsed by, and requested volunteers from, the DSA. Specifically, the article says, “Secondly, the NP’s ’96 Political Program has been enormously successful with 3 of 4 endorsed candidates winning electoral primaries. All four candidates attended the NP membership meeting on April 11th to express their gratitude. Danny Davis, winner in the 7th Congressional District, invited NPers to join his Campaign Steering Committee. Patricia Martin, who won the race for Judge in 7th Subcircuit Court, explained that due to the NP she was able to network and get experienced advice from progressives like Davis. Barack Obama, victor in the 13th State Senate District, encouraged NPers to join in his task forces on Voter Education and Voter Registration.”

Now–Confirmed by JD Hayworth!!

I just talked to JD Hayworth on his show, which you can listen to here or here, on the sidebar.

Barack Obama got the Nomination of both the New Party (Socialist Party) and the Democratic party, in order to maximize his votes. The Supreme Court has since rejected this practice, called fusion. So, JD Hayworth has now said it, Barack Obama WAS a socialist.

He also gave me the following review: “industrious…to be congratualted…and a role model” =D

On another note, I contaced the Progressive Populist, asking about whether they stand by their comments of calling Obama a New Party member. They do. I talked to Jim Cullen, the editor, and also the writer of the article. If he wrote it, it must be true, and he probably got the information from the New Party itself, he says. The New Party itself no longer exists, but its senior members formed the Working Families Party, but say that they have no official connection to their founders, and therefore don’t want to comment on Obama’s status in such a party.

So are you saying you’re against “working to break the stranglehold that corporate money and corporate media have over our political process.”?

Also, your blatant disregard for proper use of ellipses makes your writing seem a tad unprofessional.

  2. Hey Peter, can we break the stranglehold the liberal corporate media and Hollywood have over our political process? Can you envision a would where SNL doesn’t censor their skits to avoid offending Barney Frank and George Soros? How about one where the New York Times returns the Pulitizer they won the execrable “reporting” of Walter Duranty? A world where movie bad guys are actually real world bad guys (ie Islamic terrorists) instead of yet another retread of neo-nazis or Christian fundamentalists?

    No? Didn’t think so.

The media is all over the non-story of Sarah Palin’s supposed membership in the Alaska Independence Party (she attended one of their meetings a decade or more ago). But they won’t devote one column inch on page 47 to Obama’s card-carrrying membership in the New Party?

What I don’t get about all the people who love socialism and adore thugs like Hugo Chavez is this — why don’t they move to Venezuela or Cuba if they’re so enamored with how great things are there? Or Jay Nordlinger’s corollary — how come so many people risk life and limb to escape Cuba and nobody is clamoring to get in to Cuba?

All McCain has to do in order to win is this:

He must hammer home the importance of drilling.

He needs one, simple message that will encapsulate all the country’s concerns. This message is it.

    Why? Because:

    1. It’s wildly popular
    2. Obama is against it
    3. It’s sound public policy.

If we drill, we get more oil.

If we get more oil, gas prices will come down.

If gas prices come down, the cost of everything — food, textiles, electronics, etc. — will come down too.

If gas prices come down, everyone will thus be saving more money.

They will spend less on gas. Less on food. Less on everyday purchases.

This, in turn, will make families more financially solvent.

Less mortgages will go into default.

    Banks will stabilize.

    Credit will start flowing again.

The DOW will stop dropping so precipitously.

McCain *must* hit this point. He can win with it.

Plus, it plays to the one thing even Palin’s critics acknowledge is her strength — energy policy and taking on the oil companies.

And finally, it’s a national security issue as well, which lets McCain talk about his greatest strength (national defense) while addressing the country’s most immediate concern (the economy).

Please get this to McCain. Someone must know someone in the campaign. Send it along. Claim it as your own for all I care. It’s the winning strategy.

At the very least, everyone here should keep repeating it, or we’re going to have Obama as president, or even worse, Obama as president in a landslide.

love the reference to your previous article – top ten things you hate about obama. with just the title i am laughing to much to read it … i will.

top of my head … let me count the ways …

the smug look of upraised chin and crossed arms. makes me want to smack the shit out of him.

his wife. she was herself early, until people said, “OMG, get her away!” now she does trips and speeches and nobody covers it. behind many successful men are cold-hearted witches. but that’s a personal opinion.

that he isn’t honest enough to release his occidental and columbia transcripts. like nobody gets a “c” anymore? i teach – i know they get them.

that he did a year of community organizing in harlem and has mysteriously dropped all reference to it. must be like being an unpaid zoning enforcement officer.

that he has ZERO literary skills and got handed $125,000 to write a book that the publisher finally had to cancel the contract. then he got another $40,000 and what he couldn’t write, bill ayers worte. wtf giving a 29 year old six figures? i thought you had to do something real, um, intimate to get money like that. that’s what they told me – that’s why i’m poor.

that he won his state senate seat because all the other candidates got disqualified – and then won his us senate seat because all the other major candidates had scandals. go figure.

that he finds time to play basketball but not time to see our wounded troops.

that he thinks a field trip to europe counts as “foreign-policy experience.”

that he thinks i’m bitter because i cling to my gun (yeah, i’m in pennsylvania – and the part he left to go to sf (where i used to live) and said that)

and the number one reason i hate barack obama is that everyone else in the world has cleared the path for him, and all he does is stroll down it – and he thinks that gives him the right (nee privilege) to tell me how the government should interact with my life.

Yet, you still don’t hear anything about it do you? What is the McCain camp thinking?

  6. johnnny says:

And the mainstream media wants to cover up Obamas association with socialists, it’s shameful. I guess if Obama is elected president we can call him chairman Obama.

  7. Peter says:

@Chris: “Liberal corporate media”? Really? Have fun parroting the propaganda you hear instead of thinking about the fact that the vast majority of businesspeople are republican, making “liberal corporate media” not even make any sense.

  8. marinalee says:

Ok. Liberal non-corporate Media then. =D
